The Institute is the leading research and instructive organisation of the Country on those problems. ARRVIPS is an up-to-date centre on research and diagnosis the most infectious viral, bacterial and parasitic diseases of fowls. Highly trained scientists and specialists work in the field of epizootology and diagnostics, prophylactic and therapy of many avian diseases. They conduct research work on development of methods and measures for diagnosis, prophylactic and treatment of salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, reovirus and adenovirus infection of birds, infectious laryngotracheitis, infectious bronchitis, infectious bursal disease, Marek’s disease and other fowl neoplasms. The character of specific and non-specific immunity, influence of different biologically active products and means on the development of immunity and increase of poultry resistance are being studied.

The Institute’s products are - high quality diagnostics and laboratory methods for detection and recognition of avian disease with different aetiology, modern vaccines and chemical drugs for prevention and treatment of these diseases.

ARRVIPS co-operates with several foreign research establishments. Great attention is paid to the training of research personnel through post graduate and trade improvement courses for practising veterinarians in the poultry industry.

Diagnostic Centre

The diagnostic and epizootologic assay centre of ARRVIPS performs epizootologic investigations of poultry farms and laboratory testing for diagnosis of Gumboro disease, EDS-76, infectious bronchitis, influenza, Newcastle’s disease, paramyxovirus infection, fowl pox, infectious laryngotracheitis, reovirus infection, infectious anaemia, adenovirus infections, Marek’s disease, infections of leukosis, salmonellosis, pseudomonos, kiebsiellosis, hemophylosis, mycoplasmosis, staphylococcosis, and streptococcosis, aspergillosis, hlotomoniasis, coccidiosis and other diseases.

The Centre fulfils:

Control of Marek’s disease, infectious laryngotracheitis and Newcastle disease vaccine activity.
Examination of food toxicity and possibility to use them for poultry.
Development of veterinary-sanitary recommendations and issues a certificate on farms veterinary welfare.

Together with the ARRVIPS scientific research workers, specialists of other veterinary, medical and biological organisations take part in the Centre’s works. All investigations are carried out on the basis of one attendance and long-term contracts between the Institute and poultry farms.

The Institute produces:

Goose enteritis virus vaccine

Vaccine is used for goose enteritis prophylactic. Goose enteritis vaccine increases hatching eggs more than 5-8 % and provides safety of geese more than 90-95 %.

Bird Pasteurella inactivated vaccine

Novel universal vaccine is prepared from Pasteurella capsule antigen. The vaccine is used for preventive vaccination. It provides unequalled protection and prevents 90-100 % in birds against Pasteurella infection.

EDS-76 inactivated vaccine

Simultaneous use of novel adjuvant and the immune modulator increases egg production by 2-3 eggs per hen and vaccine effectiveness more than 5-10 %.

Bird Infectious laryngotrecheitis high-potent freeze-dried vaccine

The vaccine has been developed for use in birds to give broad protection against laryngotracheitis disease. Use of this vaccine preparation results In stabilisation of epizootic situation providing protection 95-100 % in birds against laryngotracheitis infection for half a year.

Newcastle disease - infectious laryngotracheitis high - potent freeze - dried vaccine.

Mixed vaccine consists of "La-Sota" lentogenic strain - ND virus and VNIVIP strain - ILT virus. Vaccine has been developed for use in birds to give broad protection against both diseases in problem farms. Vaccine is administered to 10-15 days old chickens.

Newcastle disease high - potent freeze - dried vaccine from "La-Sota" strain

Vaccine is used for preventive vaccination in problem farms. Vaccination can be administered independently of breed, molt or efficiency.

Marek’s disease tissue - culture vaccine

Marek's disease tissue - culture vaccine consists of pathogenicity free VNIVIP strain (MDV). Vaccine is used for preventive chicken vaccination of the first day of age, once only.

IBD high - potent freeze -dried vaccine from VNIVIP strain

The vaccine is used for preventive chicken vaccination. Chicken are vaccinated once only at 1-60 days of age.

Respiratory mycoplasmosis killing vaccine

The vaccine is used for preventive vaccination in mycoplasmosis problem farms. The vaccination enhances flock safety more than 0.8-7%.

Bronchitis high - potent freeze - dried vaccine from AM strain

The vaccine is used for preventive vaccination in bronchitis problem farms.

Coccidiosis culture

The culture induces subclinical coccidiosis in chickens. Coccidiosis culture application provides optimum long-term control against the following coccidiosis strains: E. tenella, E-acervullna, E. maxima.

Kit for diagnostics of EDS-76 by ELISA test

The kit is used for identification of specific antibodies in birds sera for retrospective diagnostics and control of artificial active immunity.

Kit for diagnostics of EDS-76 by hemagglutination - inhibition test

The kit is used for identification of specific antibodies (hemagglutinins) in hen's serum and egg yolk for retrospective diagnostics and control of artificial active immunity.

Kit for identification of antibodies to bird bronchitis virus by ELISA test

The kit is used for identification of specific antibodies in blood serum of not vaccinated birds and for retrospective diagnostics and control of artificial active immunity.

Kits of antigen and sera for identification of specific IBD antibodies virus antigen in gel precipitation

The kits are used for identification of antibodies in pathomaterial from sick dead birds and also in blood serum and for IBD retrospective diagnostics.

Kit for Identification of paramyxoviruses (second serotype) by hemagglutination Inhibition test

The kit Is used to estimate epizootic situation, identification of serum antibodies and determination of artificial, active immunity.

Antigen for diagnostics of bird respiratory mycoplasmosis

Antigen s used for identification of serum antibodies against Mycoplasma gallisepticum by agglutination test. Use of this anitigen provides retrospective diagnostics and control of the efficiency of mycoplasmosis prophylactic and treatment.
