ABOUT ASTOR

Astor is a private company which was established in 1995 by specialists in fluorochemics from Russian Scientific Center for Applied Chemistry.

Astor`s main areas of business are
  • Research and development of technologies of ozone-safe refrigerants
  • Production of perfluoroalkanes
  • Sales and distribution of fluorochemicals
We are the largest supplier of ozone-safe refrigerants throughout the North-West Russia. We supply a broad range of refrigerants in different package from disposables to tank-containers.

We have at our facility in Saint-Petersburg advanced filling equipment for work with refrigerants. The daily capacity of refilling line is 50 MT for bulks and tanks and 5 MT for refillable and non-refillable cylinders.

Our main partners are Du Pont de Nemour, ICI, Elf Atochem, Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Complex, Halogen from Perm, Kaustik from Volgograd.

Not so long ago, in the beginning of 1997, ASTOR and Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Complex (AECC) launched a production of technical grade Tetrafluoromethane (CF4) on base of AECC with a capacity of 400 tons per year. Astor also plans to produce electronic quality CF4 (99,997). The product will be available to March 1998.

The main idea of the joint project is to create the alternative production of electronic gases in Russia using the great fluorine potential of AECC. AECC is a part of Russia`s industrial and intellectual potential in the field of Russia`s atomic energy.

That Compex is the most reliable company in Russia. The quality of products and guaranteed deliveries are recognised both by Russian and foreign partners. That is why Astor has started the joint production of perfluoroalkanes in Angarsk.

CF4 is the first product in the scheduled chain of products to be manufactured. The next phase of production provides for manufacturing of C2F6, C3F8, C4F10 and it will be put in operation in March 1998.

It would be also interesting to know that we are also suppose to produce WF6 and NF3.
