Federal Scientific & Production Centre "NPO GIPO' Federal Scientific Production Centre "NPO GIPO" is one of the leading enterprises of optical instrument-making in Russia, is created in 1957. The enterprise solves problems of developing the optic-electronics devices and systems, mainly, for infrared spectral region (from carrying out fundamental and search investigations of optical environment and material characteristics, developing new optical technologies, manufacturing and commercial production with all kinds of tests and metrological certification). NPO GIPO performs complex investigations of radiation of different articles, visibility of fighting equipment and industrial objects; investigations, development and production of thermal imaging equipment, thermal direction-finding systems, aerospace surveillance equipment, specific monitoring-and-metrological equipment, optical elemental base and new optical technologies; creates devices for ecological environment monitoring, for determining the thermo-energetic losses of buildings, industrial objects and constructional elements. NPO GIPO has 30 years of experience of creation of thermal vision devices and has passed the way from development of the elementary thermal vision channels on photodetectors of the first generation with low-sized rulers up to development of complex systems on photodetector devices with multielement rulers and with focal arrays. During this time thermal vision sights 1PN79 for antitank missile complexes "Kornet" and "Konkurs-M", 1PN86-VI for antitank missile complexes "Metis-M" have been developed, have passed all kind of tests and are manufactured. The NPO GIPO has developed the high resolution sight for perspective vehicle-transportable complexes as well as the modules for modem aviation systems. A number of high precision unified equipment for control of the parameters of thermal imaging devices has been developed in NPO GIPO and is manufactured. Among such pieces of equipment are IR-collimator "Kolibri", automated IR control and measuring complex "NSI-K", thermal imager radiometer "Iskra". NPO GIPO can develop and supply the devices for environmental monitoring (stationary ones as well as installed on mobile carriers including aircrafts and space satellites) which permit to determine (with a high precision) the temperature anomalies, environmental pollution, leakages in gas, and product-pipelines. Research production of NPO GIPO is capable to produce both experimental and single samples, and industrial batches of optic-electronic devices. The Centre has a unique technological base for manufacturing of the high-precision optical components including a wide range of aspherical lenses with rotation-surface equations of any order (diameter: 20 to 600 mm, steepness: up to 80 degrees, aspherical gradient: up to 700nm/mm) aspherization error: 0.1 of the reflected wave-front distortion). The aspherical optics is tested with the help of an original precision measuring complex based on using of the synthesized holograms as the reference optical components.
NPO GIPO has a unique production base for the commercial production of optical coatings of all kinds for spectral regions from UV to IR: antireflective, protective, filtering (band, cutting off, narrow-band, dichroic, multi-wavelength ones), reflective including ones with little losses as well as highly durable, and coatings on optical parts made of polymers. NPO GIPO has a unique (having no analogs in the world) scientific-and-production complex for development and serial production of the ruled and hologram diffraction gratings (spectroscopic, echelle, echeletts, gratings for lasers, gratings-polarizers of IR radiation, etc.), including the ruled gratings with spatial frequency up to 3600 l/mm and hologram gratings with spatial frequency up to 5000 l/mm, transmitting IR radiation polarizers (spectral range 1.5 to 100μm), substrate materials: fluoroplastic, polyethylene, CaF2 BaF2, infrared glass; polarization degree: more or equal 95 %; transmission factor: 35 %). The Centre has developed the manufacturing technology of the narrow-band hologram filters (Notch-filters) for suppressing the laser radiation. Radiation attenuation: up to 1000000, suppression band half-width: 10 nm, transmission outside from suppression band: not less than 80 %. The Centre has developed, and manufactures the infrared objectives with the aspherical and kinoform components, for the 3-5μm and 8-14μm spectral regions. The standardized range of IR-objectives with the focal length 22 to 500 mm is developed; with the aperture ratio value up to 1:0,67. NPO GIPO has a unique reference measuring base, which allows storing and transferring of the units of energetic photometry in visible and IR spectral regions at the level of international standards, to certify with high precision the metrological characteristics of manufactured devices.
