The Kirov Tyre Plant was set up in the early 1940s with the first tyre produced in 1943. The Plant was built in the city of Kirov to the North-East of Moscow in order to be closer to the Gorki Automotive Plant (now Nizhny Novgorod). Since 1943 the company has been a major supplier to this plant supplying mainly truck tyres. Towards the end of 1996 the Company started production of radial car tyres. At present, the Plant produces tyres for cars, trucks, buses and agricultural machines as well as tyres for motorcycles and cycles. The Kirov Tyre Plant is also specialised in the production of run-flat tyres. The Copmany made significant investment in expansion of product assortment especially during 1996 and now the main products are tyres for light trucks. Since the privatisation, the Company has reinvested all income in production. |
