Water Area

The harbour of Kola Bay is protected by hills from the winds and is free from ice all-year round, so it is not required to use the ice-breakers for calling at and out of the port.

The depth of the road is 20-60 m. The average height of tide is 3,5 m. The pilotage inwards and outwards is carried out on all 21 miles. In case of severe weather conditions the shipping is regulated by means of Radar station ashore. Docking tugs are used for anchorage and departure of ships from berths.
