YALTA SEA TRADE PORT, founded in 1833, is situated in the central part of the town of Yalta, a big international tourist centre.

The Port has two terminals:

passenger terminal (old port) which has five berths receiving ships and ferries with max 215m loa and 8.6m d. The terminal annually services about 700 big passenger ships under flags of different countries of the world.

cargo and passenger terminal, outside the town, has a cargo berth - 280m long receiving ships with draft up to 7m, and the berth for passenger ships and ferries with max 195m loa and 6m d. The terminal overloads standard 20' containers and receives Ro-Ro ships.

The Port is connected by highway with cities of Crimea, Ukraine and Russia.

The Port is a legal entity and solves independently all questions of financial and industrial activities.

BASIC ACTIVITIES:

overloading of cargoes, forwarding and storage operations

coastal and deep sea shipment of passengers and cargoes by the Port's and chartered ships, servicing of crews

bunker operations, food, water and technical supplies

foreign economic activities, brokering in the local and foreign markets

The Port has its own cargo ships of deadweight 3100T each and fast (35 knots) passenger catamarans "Westamaran 4100S" with passenger capacity 298 each. All the above vessels operate in the regions of Europe, Asia and Africa.

The Port has its own service centre "MTU-Yalta", built and equipped jointly with Germany firm MTU (Daimler-Benz). The centre provides maintenance and repairs of all types of diezel engines of local and foreign manufacturers. "MTU-Yalta" is the only such service centre in Ukraine and Black Sea region of Russia and the Caucasus.

The Port is developing and modifying its passenger and cargo fleet by means of purchasing of new ships on the basis of leasing (bareboat charter).
There is a plan to carry out in 1999 reconstruction of the passenger terminal, then the Port will be able to receive ships with max 260m loa and 9.5m d.
The Port is also planning to build a hotel and business centre in the historical centre of Yalta (the Embankment).

The Port is ready for wide cooperation with foreign investors and has thoroughly calculated and feasible business plans.
