About the University

Azerbaijan Civil Engineering University was established in 1920, as a building and construction faculty - part of Baku Technical University. In 1930-34 the faculty evolved in an independent Institute on Building which became a building faculty of the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute in 1934. In connection with the formation of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1951 the building faculty was transferred to it. The Azerbaijan Civil Engineering University was established as such in 1975 and received a university status in 1992. Today the University has 9 faculties and 45 chairs and a student body of over 5000. The academic staff numbers more than 700 professors, Doctors of Science, lecturers and teachers.
