Type and length of courses	The duration of training in Medicine is 6 years (12 semesters) - the degree award is Magister and in Dentistry 5.5 year (11 semesters) the degree award is Magister for Health care - the degree award is Bacalaver - 1year and 6 months full time and 2 years and 6 months part time In the Medical College - 3 years.
Date of commencement	Each academic year starts about September 15 and finishes about June 30 the following year
Class size	In basic disciplines about 8 students, in the special disciplines about 4-5 students
Accommodation	Student accommodation is in the hotel-hostel houses of HMI with 880 beds in one- or two-bedded rooms, comfortably furnished and toilet facilities. Meals are provided for in restaurants of the hotel and in the refectory or canteens of different clinics, as well as in a chain of snack bars, refreshment rooms, shops etc.
Fees	Medicine - 4000 USD per year Dentistry - 4200 USD per year Language course - 2800 USD per year Medical college - 1300 USD per year
Financial assistance	Grants are available for Bulgarian students only
Admission requirements	The foreign citizens applying to become students at HMI - Plovdiv must have a completed secondary education with grades 75% of the maximum ones for the respective country and they must present the following documents: 1. Certificate of completed secondary education 2. Birth certificate 3. Health certificate issued no earlier than 1 month prior to application 4. Document of maintenance (self-support) The documents (originals or certified copies) must be submitted to the Rectors office of the HMI - Plovdiv no later than August 30. A special admission Committee considers the applications and informs the candidates approved before the beginning of the school year. The candidates wishing to study in Bulgaria must study Bulgarian language in a 1-year preparatory course
