About the Programme

This unique internationally accredited graduate course, entirely held in English (not in German) combines the technological, economical and cultural aspects of digital media culminating into a M.Sc. degree in Digital Media. This is not a program in computer sciences, but the application of media in all academic disciplines.

The M.Sc. in Digital Media programme provides academic training in interdisciplinary media competence. It connects media technology, informatics, design and e-commerce with the New Media in the arts, culture and society. The course qualifies students for leading positions at cross sections of digital media in business, industry, research, education, tourism and international organisations, among others. The ISNM’s interdisciplinary graduate programme in New Media aims at creating decision-makers and managers in every sector and discipline with a more complete understanding of digital media's role in the 21st century’s global world and market. The Master of Science programme follows a concerted strategy to reach this goal by providing a unique combination of technology, business, research, arts, design and culture in the Digital Media sector. Interacting with New Media takes training into uncharted territory

In our daily lives, the emergence of new electronic media has done more than change the way we look, listen and respond to sensory input. It has revolutionised our ways of working, our social structures and our global communications. But now digital media are posing tough practical questions for many companies, institutions and international bodies. Finding the best answers calls for a level of media expertise which, until recently, was seldom at hand. Decision-makers in every sector and discipline are finding that the competence to make the right decisions depends on a more profound understanding of the role of electronic media.

The ISNM International School of New Media

The ISNM strategy is a concerted response to this challenge. It is a unique combination of business, research, arts and culture in the New Media sector. At the centre of ISNM activities is our English-language postgraduate degree course. Students are educated in the history of New Media as well as the potential applications of the future. Our courses have proven appeal, not only for students at home and abroad but also for companies, who can draw on the first class resources provided by ISNM to identify new opportunities in the New Media.
