The process of training is carried on according to the curricula and syllabuses. According to these all the forms of didactic activities: courses seminars, laboratory practice, compulsory and optional disciplines, practical activities and exams for knowledge checking are stipulated in semesters, academic years and faculties. To ensure a better involvement of students in the practical forms of training they are grouped by 6-12, each group being guided by an assistant. Those students who have special aptitudes for the research work are integrated in the students’ research work in which under the direct guidance of the teaching staff, they carry on their activity in the research laboratories of the university having free access to high quality apparatus. The results of the activities can be communicated and published in sessions, medicine journals or turned into account in diplomas.

The studies close with a final exam made up of written tests and the presentation of the diploma paper elaborated in the last academic year of studies under the scientific guidance of the teaching staff. Our university has at its disposal an important material basis, which has been in a continuous improvement. The fundamental disciplines are concentrated in the main building, which is situated in the middle of an extremely well laid out park. The building has been equipped with modern laboratories. After 1990, several computers have been obtained. The laboratory of e- medicine came into being as well as the laboratory of audio-visual systems. The management of the university has a constant preoccupation for the enriching of this material basis. In the last four years, we have passed to a new form of teaching assisted by computer. The basis of teaching clinical disciplines is supplied by two clinic hospitals, which have all the necessary sections and departments with modern laboratories: X-ray department, CT department, MRI department, and ECO department. These are the County Clinic Hospital having 1595 beds and the Town Clinic Hospital with 1229 beds. The bedside medical practice begins in the third year, ends in the sixth, and is generalized and compulsory from the fourth year. Each student has to take care of 6-8 patients, so when graduating he is well acquainted with the clinical practice.
