The courses run by the English Language department are for International Students who wish to improve their English in order to get work, improve their job prospects, or to continue to University, either at undergraduate or graduate level.

All students have an English assessment and an interview with a member of the lecturing Staff. It is possible to combine modules to make your own course. Each module is 3 hours. All students study English as part of their courses, but we do require a minimum intermediate level for vocational courses. We do not accept beginners

We have business modules, which include Computing, English for Business (written and Spoken), Marketing, English for Commerce, Business and Finance.

Our general English courses run at all levels, and include part time courses for levels B1, B2, C1, C2, and full time for A2, B1 and B2.

We also offer other modules, for example British Culture.

As part of the courses, students have the opportunity to join integrated visits to places of cultural and professional interest.

The English and Vocational Studies for International Students department is part of the State College in North London, about 20 minutes underground from Oxford Street.

We are an English UK college, which means that we are inspected regularly by British Council. In a recent Government inspection, we were praised for:

“a very good standard of teaching, with outstanding lessons”, “well planned lessons which provided work for every level of student”, well qualified, experienced teachers”, “a good range of courses, which allow students to develop individual programmes of study” and also for our “very good, well-equipped Learning Resource Centre (library).

Students have the opportunity of sing the excellent sports facilities at our other centre, including swimming pool, sports hall and gymnasium.
