Afternoon activities such as horse riding and tennis are with fully qualified instructors. Escorts accompany all groups. Juniors (aged 12 to 16 years) have 1 escort per 12 students.

LINK COURSES These courses, which combine English and academic subjects at GCSE and A level to achieve university entrance are for international students.

About the School

We are a small friendly college specialising in high quality education, located in parkland near the centre of this safe, elegant and cosmopolitan town. Our informal social atmosphere, small classes, highly skilled teaching and development of examination skills create the ideal preparation for success. Students learn English quickly and we have 100% success rate with the Cambridge examinations. Academic students are given detailed help and advice with their University applications and over 90% achieve places. All academic students take Study Skills to gain the skills essential for success both in Higher Education and their careers. All students enjoy studying with us.

The college was founded in 1981 and is accredited by the British Council and the British Accreditation Council, is a member of EnglishUK, EducationUK and ClFE. We have approximately 80 students, 40% are from overseas.

The college is well equipped with audio and video equipment, computer suite, library, laboratories, and common room with snack facilities. All computers have free broadband and wireless Internet connections. Harrogate is a major conference town with high quality hotels and international restaurants, which create a cosmopolitan atmosphere. It has excellent sporting, cultural and shopping facilities. The Student Welfare Officer organises a sport, activities and excursion programme, which includes visits to theatre, cinema and local attractions.

Students stay with carefully selected host families, close to the college, and have their own room and study facilities. They are treated as adult members of the family where they quickly make friends and feel at home. The Student Welfare Officer selects the host families and is responsible for them. She is always available for support and advice.
