The main campus
occupies an attractive site close to the city centre and a short
distance away there are excellent student residential facilities set
in fine gardens. Leicester, with a population of more than 300,000, is
a commercial and cosmopolitan city with a wide variety of shops,
restaurants, cultural and recreational amenities. Surrounded by
beautiful countryside, Leicester is situated almost exactly in the
centre of England, 160km north of London (just over one hour by train)
and within easy reach of many other major towns and places of
interest - including Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William
Shakespeare, and both Oxford and Cambridge, the sites of the ancient
universities. Further details for international students can be found
