Teaching is by seminar, mostly by lecturers in the School of Law. Some seminars are conducted by visiting academics and by officials from government departments or international organisations. Assessment is conducted by one of various schemes: either a combination of assessed essays and examination; or by means of assessed essays or examination only. Candidates are then required to write a 45 page dissertation in their selected area of specialism. The School of Law at the University of Nottingham is consistently ranked amongst the leading law schools in the United Kingdom and is considered to be a leading centre of legal research and teaching in the world. Rated as Internationally Outstanding (Grade 5A, on a scale of 15*) for research and as Excellent for teaching, the School offers the opportunity to specialise in your chosen area of law in a stimulating and challenging environment.
