    Basic academic disciplines: history of Russian literature of the 11th-20th centuries, history of foreign literature, Russian folk-lore, literary criticism, theory of literature, literature of the peoples of Russia, modern Russian, history of Russian, principles of stylistics and speech culture, general linguistics, history of philology, foreign languages: English, German, French.

    Major fields of research: principles of the literary process, reciprocity of method and style, genres dynamics; typology of realism problems; literary characterology problems in the works of outstanding writers and poets of the 19th-20th centuries; folk-lore genres poetics in its contemporary state; structural study of the Russian language semantic system; speech cultureand stylistics; spoken language; theoretic and applied toponomastics, etymology; Russian dialectology.
