About the School

Cardiff Business School offers degree schemes at bothundergraduate and postgraduate level, including MBAs by both full-time and part-time study and an expanding PhD programme. The School is the largest academic department of University of Wales Cardiff and has recently been acknowledged as one of the leading business schools in Britain. Its current high level of research activity enabled it to step up one level to a Grade 5 ranking in the most recent (December 96) Research Assessment Exercise carried out by the UK's Universities Funding Council, thereby placing it sixth out of more than 100 university business schools and management centres which were assessed as part of that review.

The School currently has a staff of around 120, including some 20 professors. It has some 1,700 students, including more than 350 postgraduates. It was one of the first business schools in Britain to offer the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, and its 25 years experience has produced a degree scheme that is equal to the best in Europe. As well as attracting students from throughout Britain, it regularly attracts large numbers of full-fee paying students from around the world.

Cardiff Busines School has long been recognised as an international centre of excellence. The School has worked with the Welsh Development Agency and other government agencies on supply chain management and in investigating the structure and development of the Welsh economy.
