    General Course

    Tuition in all language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The school is an official examination centre for the major public examinations. Learn English quickly, comfortable and enjoyably. Programmes from two to twelve weeks are available all year round. Careers Guidance and Advisory Service for entrance to UK University.

    Duration: 2 - 12 weeks
    Tuition Hours: 25 hours per week plus home study.
    Class Size: 14 maximum.
    Minimum Age: 18 years

    Keyman Executive Course

    The first specialised business English course in Britain. Designed for business and professional people. Emphasis on speaking and understanding modern spoken English in an international context. SES has unrivalled experience in providing tuition in social, negotiating, technical, business and conference English. Programmes from two to four weeks are available all year round. One-To-One classes and in-company courses by arrangement.

    Tuition Hours: 30 hours per week plus home study.

    Relaxed and friendly English lessons in the morning followed by afternoons of excursions, cultural visits and activities. Social programme in the evenings and optional weekend excursions. Emphasis on spoken English in a pleasant, holiday atmosphere in international classes. Accommodation in host family or hotel. Programmes of two or three weeks in June and September. Full use is made of the school facilities and the beautiful countryside of Kent, 'The Garden of England'.

    Teacher Training

    SES Teacher Development programmes are designed to refresh your knowledge and deepen your understanding of language teaching theory and classroom methodology. Sessions are eminently practical and content is tailored to suit the particular interest of course participants. Example sessions include: Key techniques for teaching grammar, Fun with phonology, Vocabulary building, Developing skills, Practical help in classroom drawing, The Internet for teaching English, Creating and adapting teaching materials. For those particularly interested in The Brain & Learning, modules are available on Accelerated and Holistic Learning methods covering how the brain works, memory, study skills and learning styles, NLP, Multiple Intelligence Theory, Suggestopedia and Emotional Intelligence. Such material is relevant to practising teachers of any subject.

    Courses include an evening social programme and study visits to places of exceptional interest. Kent has more listed historic buildings than any other English county.


    English Vacation School Folkestone

    Designed for young students to prepare them for an English-speaking future. Half-day of serious but enjoyable English classes, half-day of activities and sports. Evening social programme and Sunday excursion are included in the fees. All staff are qualified and experienced specialists with a British government-approved qualification in health and safety. Particular attention is given to welfare, safety, character development and drama. Programmes of two, four, six and eight weeks in July and August for seniors aged 13 - 17 and juniors aged 9 - 12 years.
