If you are a student or involved in any form of degree education with ultimate the aim of giving you a head start in a career based in tech industries, it's a good idea to know which areas are growing in demand for new talent. IT and tech sectors offer some of the most dynamic employment opportunities today, and this is due in no small part to the way that these industries are constantly innovating and transforming in terms of the products they create and the processes they use. This means that there are new and unique job roles coming on stream all the time, many of which might have only existed as concepts only a decade or so ago.

The tech world covers so many different approaches, subjects and disciplines these days that most end consumers may not be familiar with many of the job roles involved. Biggest movers

Strong hiring from tech and IT firms is delivering employment gains across the board and for all industries; last year's IT job growth rate was its highest in a decade, according to figures from CompTIA. Cybersecurity analysts topped the list of specialities in demand with 85,200 total jobs, an increase of 4.8% on 2015. Web developers, software developers for applications and systems, systems analysts, computer user support specialists and IT managers all saw significant increases in filled vacancies.


Education

Whether you are a recent graduate or still involved in your studies, there are ways in which you can maximise your chances of success in getting a good job in the tech sector. The problem is that although skills are in demand and jobs are in good supply, there are many people who share your own dreams of working in a tech role, so you need to know how to stand out from the crowd.


Emerging sectors

With the speed in which tech has advanced since the turn of the century showing no signs of slowing down, the ability to predict which emerging sectors will dominate over others is a very tricky business. One thing is for certain: skilled and experienced tech and IT professionals will always be in demand, and the way that new industries and sectors are coming through all the time means that there will be plenty of opportunities if you are ambitious and driven to make a successful career for yourself.
