Admissions requirements There is a set of minimum requirements that participants have to fulfil. These minimum requirements are:
- Bachelor degree (minimum grade "good")
- a minimum of 2 years professional experience is advisable
- English proficiency (TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS Band 6)
- demonstrate a relation to the water sector - either through the previous studies or jobs

About the Master's Program in Integrated Water Resources Management IWRM


Water resources, indispensable basis for development, food and health, become ever scarcer and more polluted. The concept of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) offers solutions to the water crisis by connecting water to other vital resources. Accordingly, IWRM regards the whole water cycle together with human interventions as the basis for sustainable water management. As it is a relatively new concept, there is a high demand for experts adequately trained in the concept of IWRM. Next to the technical and managerial skills related to water resources these experts also require knowledge of project funding and international cooperation.

In particular for bilateral projects between Germany and Arab countries there is a need for experts who are skilled in intercultural communication, being familiar with the culture, language and politics of both sides. The MSc »IWRM« has the objective to equip such experts with the necessary knowledge and skills and to promote the concept of IWRM in the context of German-Arab cooperation.“We, the Amman-Cologne School of IWRM, empower professionals to manage water systems sustainably."

The bicultural master program IWRM is conducted by Cologne University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) and the University of Jordan (UJ), with primary responsibility on the Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT) in Cologne and the Water and Environment Research and Study Center (WERSC) in Amman.
