    About the courses

The post graduate programmes at the University of Greenwich Business School blend the theoretical with the practical in order to produce knowledgeable and capable managers. The MBA programmes are designed for experienced managers who wish to progress in their careers or for those who wish to transfer from a technical specialism to management. The standard MBA covers a wide range of topics; this is also true of the two specialist programmes as specialist managers in the marketing or finance fields also require a broad and deep knowledge of how their organisation works in order to make good decisions. The intake is international giving students a greater understanding of other business cultures as well as the opportunity to network and build international partnerships and business links.

The integration of finance and IT is increasingly apparent. The MSc Finance suite focuses on this developing relationship, particularly its practical implementation. All of the courses offer one year full time or two year part time options and are open to recent graduates or those with experience. The M.Sc in Financial Management is for candidates from a business/finance related background who wish to acquire financial management and decision making skills while the M.Sc in Accounting and Finance is designed to enable the finance or accountancy oriented candidate to gain financial skills and relate them to IT. The M.Sc in Finance and Financial Information Systems enables students from either an IT or finance/accountancy backgrounds to relate information systems to financial analysis while the M.Sc in Banking and Finance is for those seeking career development in the banking sector. All of the MBA and MSc programmes are taught by exprienced academics, the vast majority of whom are either current or past practicioners .

    About the University

The University of Greenwich Business School has been delivering post graduate programmes for 13 years; the MBA was the first of these and has been consistently popular with both students and employers. With a full time staff of approximately 90 academics, the vast majority of whom have a large amount of business experience as well as a solid academic background, the School offers real insight into business. Our programmes are constantly being updated in order to reflect current thinking and business trends with many visiting lecturers being brought in from companies in order to give students a view on real life implementation of the subjects that they are studying. The school is currently in the process of moving to the Maritime Greenwich campus, which is one of the finest university campuses in the UK; the MBA programmes will be located there from September 2000 with the MSc programmes moving in September 2001.
