The MBA programme was introduced in response to demand for an elite training programme to create and develop the senior managers and business leaders of the future. It is the gold standard of business qualifications and as such will significantly enhance your career prospects within top commercial and service organisations. On this course you will learn how to build up the strategic decision-making and entrepreneurial skills necessary to drive success and development in an organisation. You will enhance your managerial capabilities and broaden your theoretical understanding of business strategy applying it to real business situations within the globally competitive environment. Split into two stages – the Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) and the MBA Top-Up – you can start at whichever level suits your current qualifications and receive a recognised qualification after each stage. This means you can complete the DMS in only six months or a fast-track MBA in just one year. The Postgraduate DMS introduces the business environment and strategic management knowledge for the various operational functions of an organisation. The MBA Top-Up builds on these skills developing business modelling techniques, and problem-solving ability in the context of the global economy. You will become familiar with international management practice and the development of effective business cultures. You will also be required to undertake a research investigation into a contemporary management issue utilising primary and secondary investigation techniques and data sources. The dissertation will be 15,000 - 20,000 words in length. Minimum entry requirements for the MBA course are an Undergraduate degree, an IELTS score of 6.0 (for non native English speakers) and at least three years relevant professional experience.
