Accommodation There are six recently built halls of residence. As a guide, the 2006- 2007 prices were between £44.10 and £91.35 per week. Situated within easy walking distance of the main campus and city centre, the Halls offer a high standard of self-catering accommodation, with over 2,000 single study bedrooms including 1,000 rooms providing en-suite facilities. All rooms have cable points for Internet connection. Shared kitchen facilities contain fridge/ freezers, electric hob units, microwave and conventional ovens. Each Hall is provided with a well-equipped laundry and most Halls have a communal television area.

The Accommodation Office also offers assistance for students wishing to live in the private rented sector. Students may choose to live as a lodger in a private house, either with or without meals being provided, or to join other students in renting a house or flat with responsibility for rent, food and all bills.
Class size Each module within a course is divided into Lecture, Seminar and Tutorial. The number of students is up to usually 20 in the seminar and tutorial while the lecture gathers all the students doing the same module.

Southampton Solent University is pleased to offer some Scholarships to overseas students applying for places on our taught postgraduate courses.
The University also offers a range of bursaries to EU students.
Admission requirements The University welcomes applications from students with an equivalent to the British entry requirements to Higher Education. Mature students can also be admitted on the basis of experience rather than standard qualifications.

Students should be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of competence in both written and spoken English. The normal examinations to demonstrate competence are a GCSE or GCE O Level (Grade C), IELTS 6.00 (6.5 for Postgraduate studies) or a TOEFL score of 550 or more (600 or more for Postgraduate studies).

Students with other forms of English Language qualifications should contact the International Recruitment Office to determine their acceptability.
