MA Transport Economics MRes Built Environment MSc Transport Planning MSc Transport Planning & the Environment MSc Transport Planning and Practice (part-time only) MSc (Eng) Transport Planning & Engineering Postgraduate diplomas (120 credits) are available for those not wishing to study to masters level (180 credits). |

Masters courses are normally 12 months full-time or 24-36 months part-time. Postgraduate diplomas are normally 9 months full-time or 18-24 months part-time. |
| Examinations offered | Courses are assessed by a variety of different methods, which may include examination, coursework, practical work, presentations, projects and a dissertation. Certain courses provide exemption from the educational requirements of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (MCIT) and the Institution of Highways and Transportation (MIHT). |

| Admission requirements |
MA Transport Economics A first or good (upper second class) honours degree, or equivalent, in economics or with a substantial economics content. Applicants with a less strong background in economics but with suitable quantitative skills will also be considered. MRes Built Environment A first class or good second class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject. MSc Transport Planning A first or good second class honours degree or equivalent in geography, economics, civil engineering, mathematics, or other relevant disciplines. Other graduates and holders of professional qualifications (e.g. CEng, MCIT) with considerable experience in the transport field will also be considered. MSc Transport Planning & the Environment A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, for example geography, civil engineering, mathematics, economics. MSc Transport Planning and Practice (part-time only) Normally a first or good second class honours degree in a numerate discipline, but this may not be necessary if the candidate has extensive experience of working in the sector. Students will not be accepted on to the programme without the full cooperation of their employers - including a commitment to provide study time. MSc (Eng) Transport Planning & Engineering A first or second class honours degree or equivalent in a suitable numerate discipline e.g. Civil Engineering, Geography, Economics, Mathematics. English language skills (all courses) Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence that their ability in the various skills of English is sufficient by including with their applications details of any recognised English language qualifications, and of experience in using English. The most usual qualifications are TOEFL or the British Council IELTS test. We require at least an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with not less than 5.5 in any individual skill, or a TOEFL score of 550, with 5 on the Test of Written English and 250 overall on the Test of Spoken English (equivalent of 220 on the new computer-based scoring system with 4.0 on the essay rating). |

| Student profile | The student body at ITS is culturally diverse. Typically there are an equal number of international and UK students. There tend to me more male than female students, as is common in the transport sector as a whole.
