    Course/Program description

    The aims of our English-language International MBA are three-fold

    1. to develop core knowledge in cutting-edge management theories and related concepts
    2. to provide participants throughout the programme with opportunities to put theory into practice, thereby developing managerial skills
    3. to enhance performance and capability through intensive personal development

    Our International MBA comprises a mix of core courses, electives, workshops, international seminars and a team consultancy project.

    · The core courses cover all key management fields and are delivered early in the programme before participants begin to specialise;
    · Elective courses are delivered from April onwards to enable participants to build and personalise his expertise;
    · To enrich the programme, workshops with other academic programmes offered at ESCP-EAP are offered;
    · A series of international seminars is offered in different cities to address specific managerial issues in a global context.

    Core courses represent the central part of the International MBA programme. There are 12 modules: managerial economics, corporate strategy, marketing, fundamentals of e-business, accounting and cost analysis, corporate finance, operations management, human resource management, organisational behaviour, entrepreneurship, comparative business law, decision sciences.

    Electives are reviewed each year so that MBA participants benefit from the most up-to-date developments in business and management. A minimum of 15 participants is required for an elective to run. Current electives include: innovation management, knowledge management, e-commerce, competitive intelligence, project management, country analysis, industry analysis, mergers and acquisitions, global strategy.

    Workshops focus on special cross-disciplinary issues. The approach is based on real-life case studies and teamwork. Each workshop is organised over a 3-day period and corresponds to 18 class hours. Recent topics include: information and telecommunication technologies: issues and perspectives; creativity; cross cultural management; negotiation; business ethics; business simulation.

    International seminars are intensive one-week seminars designed to provide participants with a clear vision of the changing global business environment. Three European seminars are organised in co-operation with partner institutions. Week-long seminars include conferences and company visits. Emphasis is on legal and regulatory issues (Brussels), business opportunities (Berlin and Warsaw), and the characteristics of business in Southern Europe (Madrid). An optional seminar looks at trends and developments in Silicon Valley.

    The International Consultancy Project is an essential part of the programme. It provides participants with the opportunity to work on "live" projects under the supervision of a faculty member. The aim is to enable participants to strengthen their team working skills and to apply knowledge acquired during the MBA course. The project is conducted for a company or a partner institution, which provides a work theme and is willing to invest resources (time, corporate information, logistics) in the project. The final report should lead to proposals or action plan for the client.
