About Davis & Elkins College

Davis & Elkins College offers a personalized undergraduate education designed to provide students a “competitive edge.” With an enrollment of 650 and a student/faculty ratio of 12:1, students have opportunities to develop close and mutually beneficial relationships with members of the faculty and each other. Educational outcomes lead to impressive career placement rates and admission to excellent graduate and professional schools.

More than 30 academic programs leading to associate and baccalaureate degrees are offered, ranging from traditional arts and sciences to professional studies—including nursing and teacher education—as well as innovative programs such as hospitality and recreation management. Pre-professional programs prepare students for admission to schools of medicine, dentistry, forestry, the ministry, occupational therapy, pharmacy and law. The Honors Program offers an extra challenge for highly motivated students. The College is home to the Graceland Inn and the Robert C. Byrd Center for Hospitality and Tourism. This unique on-campus business provides a laboratory for students in the school’s business program, including majors in the Hospitality Management and Tourism programs. The Augusta Heritage Center, which is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of American Folk culture, is also housed at Davis & Elkins College, enriching the cultural fabric on campus.

Davis & Elkins is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The campus is located in a small community in the heart of one of the nation's most scenic and fastest-growing recreation areas. Elkins, population nearly 10,000, has been ranked 28th in both The 100 Best Small Towns in America and The 100 Best Small Arts Towns in America.
